An Emmy Award-winning special effects makeup artist, Gino Crognale has spent decades shaping the modern look of horror cinema and television. Working alongside legendary figures such as Greg Nicotero and Tom Savini, Gino has helped bring some of the genre’s most iconic creatures and effects to life. His extensive credits include The Walking Dead, Creepshow, From Dusk Till Dawn, Wishmaster, Scream 2, Planet Terror, Sin City, Splice and The Final Destination.
Gino is also instantly recognisable to fans for stepping in front of the camera as well as working behind the scenes. On The Walking Dead, he did not just help create the walkers, he became them. His most memorable on-screen appearances include Winslow, the brutal metal-spiked junkyard walker who nearly killed Rick Grimes, and the walker responsible for Tyreese’s devastating final bite. Few artists can claim to have both designed the monsters and embodied them on screen.
