We’re thrilled to announce that Emmy Award-winning special effects makeup artist Gino Crognale will be joining us at Horror Con Scotland on April 11, 2026, at the SEC Glasgow.
With decades of experience in the horror industry, Gino has worked alongside legendary figures Greg Nicotero and Tom Savini, helping to create some of the most terrifying and iconic creatures ever put on screen. His extensive special effects makeup credits read like a horror hall of fame, including The Walking Dead, Creepshow, From Dusk Till Dawn, Wishmaster, Scream 2, Planet Terror, Sin City, Splice, and The Final Destination, among many others. His work has played a huge role in shaping the modern look of practical horror effects.
Gino hasn’t just worked behind the scenes – he’s also stepped in front of the camera, particularly on The Walking Dead. As part of Greg Nicotero’s legendary makeup team, he became several of the show’s most memorable walkers. Fans will instantly recognise Winslow, the metal-spiked junkyard walker who nearly killed Rick Grimes, as well as the walker responsible for biting Tyreese in one of the series’ most emotional moments. His on-screen appearances add an extra layer of connection between artist and creature, blending performance with technical mastery.
