Bringing Dead By Daylight To Life At Horror Con Scotland

27th May 2025 | Behind The Screams

In partnership with Dead by Daylight, we set out to create something more than just a themed photo spot. We wanted fans to feel like they’d stepped into the game itself. The heartbeat. The panic. The moment you realise the Trapper is right behind you.

So we built it.

A Killer Game.

We designed a 4-minute survival game where teams of six had one goal: fix the generator before you get hooked. Sounds simple. It’s not. Especially when you’re being hunted through the fog.

To bring it to life, we built the generator and locker ourselves from scratch. Every cable, bolt, and scuff mark was added with love (and a few swear words). We even commissioned a replica hook – the kind that makes you take one step back even though you know it’s fake.

The area was dark, loud, and filled with fog. It was chaotic, fast, and exactly how we wanted it.

Safety First. Screams Second.

As much as we wanted chaos, we also needed to keep things under control. Before each round, our team walked players through the rules and what to expect. We also had staff in place to guide things along and keep everyone safe while they were running around in a panic.

The Trapper was played by a trained actor – scary enough to make you run, but smart enough not to actually catch you. Mostly.

The Reaction.

Honestly? You lot were brilliant.

People came out of the zone shaking, laughing and swearing.

Next to the main experience was a chill-out zone where fans could meet other players and grab some cool photos. Even better, members of the Dead by Daylight team were there in person to meet fans, talk about the game and show trailers. It gave the whole area an extra buzz, and made the experience feel properly connected to the game world.

If you made it out alive this year – congratulations!

And a massive thank you to the Dead by Daylight team for getting involved, meeting fans, and helping us bring something truly unforgettable to life.
