Best known for his unforgettable role as Butterball in Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Simon was first spotted playing ‘The Fool’ in a London production of King Lear. That performance caught the attention of writer-director Clive Barker, who invited him to join the Dog Company – a theatre group that led to Simon’s involvement in the first two Hellraiser films.
Following the franchise’s success, Simon took on the role of the ill-fated Ohnaka in Nightbreed, filmed at the iconic Pinewood Studios. His screen credits have since grown to include Book of Blood (alongside Jonas Armstrong and Sophie Ward), Dead of the Nite (with horror icon Tony Todd), and Starfish (with Golden Globe winner Joanne Froggatt).
His TV work includes The Real Mamils with Joe McGann and Gwyneth Strong, and he’s both acted in and produced the acclaimed Dark Ditties series – streaming now on Amazon Prime.
From Edinburgh to Los Angeles, Karachi to Stockholm, Simon’s globe-spanning career as an actor, director, designer and producer is nothing short of extraordinary.
